TVS Racing has initiated the registration process for the 2019 TVS Ladies One Make Championship, an all-female racing series designed to promote participation of women in motorsport.

TVS will hold selection rounds in Bangalore and Mumbai, with interested candidates required to sign up on the Indian manufacturer’s website here.

The Bangalore selection round will take place at the Meco Kartopia on February 9, while Island Sports Gokart Track will host the Mumbai round on February 23.

On the basis of various parameters including lap times and physical fitness, 15 candidates will be selected from both cities for the final part of the selection process in Chennai.

At each stage, the candidates will receive formal training from a range of professional riders from the TVS stable, including Harry Sylvester, Jagan Kumar, KY.Ahamed & Aishwarya Pissay.

“We are the only manufacturer in India committed to women racing with 4 consecutive seasons of the TVS Ladies One Make Championship,” B Selvaraj, Team Manager, TVS Racing said.

“We introduced this initiative to train and equip talented women riders to enter the mainstream racing arena.

“With each passing year, I am delighted to see the increasing number of participants, which is a testimony to our effort of creating a gender-neutral space for motorsports in India.

“I wish all the women participants the very best and hope to see them excited about professional racing.”

Selected riders will get to compete in the five-round TVS Ladies One Make Championship, which runs as a support event to the MRF MMSC National Motorcycle Championship.

Each female rider will get to ride the same spec TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0. bike.
