Factory TVS rider Aishwarya Pissay will compete in the second round of FIM Bajas World Cup in Portugal this weekend.

This will be her third ever international appearance and second in the World Cup, following her debut in Baja Aragon last year and entry in the season opener in Dubai earlier this month.

The Baja do Pinhal, as it is officially called, will begin on Friday with a ceremonial start and a 9.7 km Prologue run.

The first special stage will take place on Saturday and will run for 191.27km, followed by the rally-concluding 173.42 km Special Stage 2 on Sunday.

Pissay picked up 25 points after finishing 26th overall in the Dubai round earlier this month. She was classified as the highest-placed female rider.

"The Portugal rally will be a fantastic learning experience for me as the stages will have more enduro than fast sections,” said Pissay, who will again compete on a 450cc bike.

“I have been training with BigRock Spain team for the past couple of weeks in similar terrain and have improved my riding technique.

“I am hoping to perform much better here in Portugal where, unlike in Dubai, navigation is not a major issue.

“I am focused on securing as many World Cup points as possible by completing the course.”
