Honda India will field Rajiv Sethu and Senthil Kumar in the 2019 season of Asia Road Racing Championship.

Both Sethu and Kumar will compete in the Asia Production 250cc class, which sits below Supersport 600cc and the new Asia Superbike 1000cc category in the series’ multi-class ladder.

Sethu made his ARRC debut in 2017 and will stay in the category for a third season after a vastly improved showing in 2018.

“This is my third year in ARRC and I’m very thankful to Honda 2Wheelers India for giving me this great platform,” he said. “I am realising my dreams to grow my skills and prove myself in international championships. With every season I am going a step closer to my dreams.

“For 2019 preparation has been the toughest with Honda’s best in class training facilities. This year I am challenging myself to climb even further and strive to close the season in top 15.”

Sethu will be joined by rookie Kumar, who graduates to ARRC on the back of a stellar season in the Thai Talent Cup.

“I feel very blessed to get international opportunities with Honda in just two years since start of my professional racing [career].

“ARRC will be first exposure to Asia’s toughest race. I am extremely excited and happy to be a part of the Idemitsu Honda Racing team and representing India on international soil.”

The two riders will represent the Idemitsu Honda Racing India team, an all-Indian team formed last year by Honda’s local arm.

Meanwhile, Honda also announced that Mohammed Mikail and Kritik Habib will take part in the Thai Talent Cup in 2019.

Both riders are graduates of the Honda India Talent Cup, with 14-year-old Mikail having won last year's title in the 150cc category.
